The Sealander Sailing Academy Captains’ Club

Captains’ Club is for those skippers racing big boats who are supportive of our Youth on Yachts (“YOY”) initiative. YOY provides opportunities for youth to race on big boats in our fleet. 

We recognize the great responsibility of skippers in the fleet to keep their crews safe while being competitive. Our Captains’ Club is the opportunity for them to provide input on our curriculum and gain access to our Sealander grads to sail and race on their boats. 

Each member of our Captains’ Club will receive a Sealander YOY burgee to identify them as a member of the Sealander Captains’ Club and supporter of the YOY program.

In 2026, we are excited to partner with the Piscataqua Youth Sailing Association and Piscataqua Sailing Association to introduce Friday Night Twilights, a Friday night non-spinnaker pursuit race starting and finishing off the Portsmouth Yacht Club. Every yacht participating will be encouraged to take at least 2 crew under the age of 18.
